Yubatake

"Yubatake" is located in the center of town. The source of hot spring, fall of spring, and smoke of spring are the most representative of Kusatsu. We are proud of Japan's best natural hot spring water, Kusatsu Onsen, one of Japan's three most famous springs. About 4,000 L of hot water per minute makes smoke and starts to go out. There are boardwalks, stone fences with tiled tiles, and the bench which imitates Mt. Shirane around Yubatake. The view of the night illuminated is fantastic.

Yumomi

One of the representative culture of Kusatsu is "Yumomi". At "Atsunoyu" near the Yubatake, If you use high temperature hot water with a long board and Kusatu song, you can reduce the temperature of spring. It is a tourist bath famous for the "Yomomi Show". As well as the tour, you can also experience the hot spring actually. There are 2 courses. One if them is a hot spring viewing and another is a hot spring experience.

Kusatsu library

Hot spring library is on the third floor of the bus terminal. This library is attached to the museum, not only used as a library. It is possible to preview information on Kusatsu. In the museum, there is a history of Kusatsu Onsen, and displays such as wooden tubs that were actually used.

Yukemuri tei

Yukemuri-tei is standed beside "Yubatake". Building reproduces communal bath "Matsunoyu" which there was in this place in the Edo period. In addition to being able to touch the hot spring pulled from the Yubatake, You can also enjoy footbath. Because Kusatsu hot water is strongly acidic, Just soaking your hands and feet for a few minutes seems to have a hot bath effect.

Kosenji temple

West kawahara park

West Kawahara Park, It is a sightseeing spot representing Kusatsu along with Yubata. In the park, a hot spring flows as a river, and there is also a free foot bath. At 22 o'clock from sunset, there is a fantastic light up, so you can enjoy the night walk. In addition, in the park there is a large open-air bath about 500 square meters. It is also recommended to enjoy the hot spring while looking at the nature of Kusatsu from a large open-air bath.

Shirane shrine

Shirane Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to Japanese martial arts north of the Yubata. Although the foundation is unknown, since ancient times has been the center of Mount Shirane. The spacious grounds, including the Kakoiyama Park, are great walkways. The deity festival held in July is famous for young people carrying Shinto shrines and walking around the town.

Takishita street

Takishita Street has a special building feature called "Segai made out". The street is lined with buildings built by a unique construction method. The second floor is out in front of the first floor with the construction. It is one of the traditional architecture of North Kanto for making of a building. It is often introduced on television as a city with a tasteful atmosphere.

Cycling road

The plateau area extends around the hot spring town that shows the old atmosphere. It is possible to go through this plateau region in a refreshing way. A cycling road is from the northeast of the town, Belts Forest ~ Recreation Forest ~ A leisure base in summer through Scribab Forest. About 2 km to Mt Tengu you can do a forest bath with my bicycle. Of course you can walk on foot. Many wild birds inhabit the Kusatsu plateau, Great location for bird watching.
